Cut It Out is program through the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) This program is to mobilize licensed beauty professionals to fight the epidemic of intimate partner abuse.
Estheticians, massage therapists, and make-up artists are in the ideal position to recognize when something’s just not quite right with their clients. Physical signs of abuse like bruises and cuts, or outward behaviors, like self-blame, sudden lifestyle changes, and irregular appointments can indicate that a client or colleague is in trouble. Salons, spas, and barbershops are often one of the few places victims can safely and confidentially share that they need help.
Empower beauty professionals with education on how to recognize signs and symptoms of domestic violence and respond to victims using discreet and empathetic techniques along with providing them with professional local resources
We offer a free 1 hour interactive presentation about the types of abuse and warning signs to salons, spas, and cosmetology schools.
